The more than 15,000 public school students who live here are served by Santa Clara Unified School District. The district administers 17 elementary schools, one K through 8 school, three middle schools, two conventional high schools and four alternative.

The students of Santa Clara Unified School District have seen their performance increase steadily every year since 2013. The District currently ranks 239 of 853 public school districts in the state.

Millikin Basics + Elementary School (“an alternative education program,” according to the District) is the highest-ranked school in the district — 28th of 5,650 elementary schools in California. The students here outperform 99.5 percent of the state’s other elementary schools.

The City of Santa Clara takes their outdoor amenities seriously, offering 247 acres of parkland in 33 parks.

The most popular park among locals is the fabulous Central Park. It includes 52 acres with plenty to keep you busy, including:

“Parents” of the four-legged spend time at the city’s only off-leash dog park, the 1.5-acre Raymond G. Gamma Dog Park.
